All students must carry personal health insurance that meets “minimum essential coverage” as defined by Affordable Care Act (ACA). Students are not covered by COPE Health Solutions’ nor the program site’s worker’s compensation insurance.
Scholars must read and speak English. For most programs, English fluency or advanced proficiency is required. For International Study Tours, all instruction occurs in English and intermediate English proficiency is required.
Scholars must obtain an appropriate visa for participation in the program
All scholars must pass a background check.
Current immunizations are required of all students. These requirements vary somewhat by site. Specific instructions on immunization requirements will be provided when you interview for the program.
General immunization records and/or titers include:
Be prepared to possibly have titers taken – this involves a blood test to check your immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. Titers are required by some, but not all, program sites.
Additional health screenings are required at some program sites. Information will be provided at the time you interview and at clearance appointments.
CPR Certification is required for most programs, and is included in the cost of tuition for some. Please see the below chart for program specific requirements.
You do not heed to have CPR certification prior to applying for any of our programs. For the Health Scholar and Licensed Nurse Scholar programs, applicants must submit proof of CPR certification at the clearance appointment. The required certification is Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association. No other certification will be accepted. A classroom course or hybrid course is required – fully online courses are not acceptable. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
