Explanation of Tuition & Fees

Application Fee
The application fee covers the cost of processing the application.

Tuition includes instruction, a UCLA certificate, course materials, uniform shirts and clearance costs. This is a one-time payment that covers the entire duration of the program.

Other Program Costs

Immunizations, TB Tests & Titers
All Scholars will need to have current immunizations and complete TB tests during the clearance process. You may also be asked to get titers, which are blood tests that check for immunity to certain diseases. Requirements vary by site and will be discussed further during interviews. Immunizations are generally covered by health insurance or may be obtained from low-cost clinics. If titers are required at appointed site, you may need to obtain the titers at your own expense.


COPE Connect Membership
Tuition includes a one-year membership to COPE Connect. Membership automatically renews annually at the rate of $30 per year; however, when the tuition payment is submitted, an opt-out is available. COPE Connect offers members-only discounts, networking events, workshops and more. It connects you to a network of Scholars and alumni who are pursuing careers in health care.


CPR Certification
For most programs, Scholars are required to carry current CPR certification at the level of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers through the American Heart Association. For some programs, CPR certification is included in the cost of tuition. For the Health Scholar program and Licensed Nurse Scholar program, CPR certification is required but is not included in tuition. Financial Assistance

A limited amount of financial assistance is available to assist with a portion of the tuition for select programs. Financial assistance applications can be provided during interviews. We also accept scholarships from outside organizations.
