Yeneba Smith joined the COPE Health Solutions team in January 2020 as a Regional Manager. In her role, she oversees the success of multiple client sites within the southern California region, ensuring the achievement of client metrics, as well as providing strategic direction and support of Health Scholar programs’ operations, recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts. She is also coordinating alignment and engagement with academic partners across the Southern California region to ensure a diverse workforce for the Health Scholar program and future healthcare workforce.
Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Mrs. Smith served as a Career & Professional Development Coach and Educator for a combination of over 20 years. For 13 of those years, she has helped hundreds of college students majoring in STEM, Pre-Health and Pre-Medicine, among others, transition into the workforce by providing services in professional development coaching, training, classroom instruction, and career-focused educational programming. As a career coach, she has excelled in business development, recruitment initiatives, event planning, and cross-departmental collaboration to meet the needs of her students’ career readiness goals. In addition, she served on the Executive Board as President for CLASIC, a non-profit organization, overseeing the planning for professional development conferences for 150+ career center professionals from Liberal Arts & Sciences colleges and universities throughout southern California.
Mrs. Smith holds a Master in Education and Instructional Design from Western Governors University and is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago holding a Bachelor of Arts in English, Writing.
