Alexis Pierce joined COPE Health Solutions in November 2020 as a Program Manager. During her tenure as Program Manager, she managed the COPE Health Scholars programs at Hoag Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Riverside. In her role, Ms. Pierce supported with streamlining program operations and led the onboarding of program leadership at several sites across Northern and Southern California. She is currently a Regional Manager where she oversees all program operations for several client sites in Orange County, CA. Ms. Pierce’s role includes the mentorship and professional development of program participants, as well as enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Pierce was a part of the COPE Health Scholars program at Hoag Hospital. Following her graduation from the Health Scholar Program, she joined the pilot cohort for the COPE Care Navigator Program at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital. During her time as a Care Navigator, she became a member of the Executive Team where she oversaw departmental operations for both the Care Navigator and Health Scholar programs. Ms. Pierce contributed to the development of workflows for program participants and the corresponding training materials, as well as serving as an essential link to hospital staff. She facilitated the implementation of the program in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings, while ensuring that the scope of practice meets the needs of the community and the health system. In addition to her role as a Health Scholar, Care Navigator, and Executive Leadership Team member, Ms. Pierce served as a Health Scholar Assistant for Hoag Hospital. In her role, she grew the program from 20 to 40 FTE by using targeted recruitment strategies that emphasize program impact and identify underrepresented student demographics. In order to enhance program participant experience and engagement, Ms. Pierce organized and facilitated the delivery of student and faculty-led workshops that focus on professional development and health care career pathways.

Ms. Pierce earned her Bachelor of Science in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. While completing her undergraduate work, she served as a Special Education Teaching Assistant where she aided students with varying learning differences in reaching cognitive and developmental milestones. Ms. Pierce planned and executed weekly educational plans to prepare students for independent-living following high school graduation. She is passionate about mitigating barriers to quality health care and advocating for the underserved.
