Michelle Argueta joined the COPE Health Solutions team in November 2018 as a Program Manager in the Health Scholar Program. In this role, Ms. Argueta oversees program operations and focuses on the professional growth and development of program participants at Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles, California.
Prior to joining the team, Ms. Argueta worked at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles as an Assistant Director of Admission. She was responsible for providing pre-health science and nursing students with the necessary tools and feedback to prepare them for a career in health care. She worked closely with various nursing departments on and off campus, higher education institutions and clinical partners to create educational pipelines to improve students’ transition into health care, improve the student learning experience and ensure program success. Ms. Argueta led the implementation and served as the liaison between Mount Saint Mary’s and various Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers in the Los Angeles area, as well as the Mount San Antonio College RN to BSN Completion Programs.
Ms. Argueta graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a minor in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary’s University and is currently completing her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. Her graduate-level research is focused on the educational and social inequities faced by minority women looking to pursue a career in STEM. She is excited to combine her passions for health care, research and working with diverse and underserved populations.
