Vanessa Jacuinde joined COPE Health Solutions in April 2019 as a Program Manager at Adventist Health Simi Valley. In this role, Ms. Jacuinde is responsible for the growth and development of the Health Scholars Program, which includes overseeing program operations, maintaining and building partnerships to increase awareness of the program and ensure the program has a positive impact within the community. In her role, Ms. Jacuinde is also responsible for the recruitment of talented and diverse scholars, providing mentorship and professional development to ensure they succeed as health care professionals.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Jacuinde was the Services Manager for a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving health care equity and promote well-being for underserved communities. In her role, Ms. Jacuinde was responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of a national CDC-funded capacity building program aimed at strengthening high-impact HIV prevention efforts for state, local and tribal health departments. In this role, Ms. Jacuinde had the privilege of providing capacity building services for health care providers across the country and worked closely with the Puerto Rico Department of Health to support the restoration of health services on the island post hurricane Maria in 2017.

Ms. Jacuinde comes with over 12 years of experience in the field of public health, having also worked as a Health Center Administrator, managing the daily operations of a community-based clinic and ensuring access to a wide range of healthcare services for diverse populations. As a Program Manager for a home health agency, she was responsible for the implementation of a first 5-funded initiative called “Welcome Baby”, aimed at increasing education and access to resources for first time mothers in South Los Angeles.
Ms. Jacuinde received a Master’s in Public Health from the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA. She has a passion for strengths-based leadership and building the capacity of the health care force to improve the health & wellness of communities.
