For students and graduates (age 18+) of colleges and universities, who are preparing for medical school
Certificate in Patient Experience and Pre-Medical Studies
Scholars must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited college or university, and be at least 18 years old.
Get ready for an intense summer experience. You will start with a week-long training program concluding with written and practical exams. Upon passing the exams, you will move into an 8-week learning program including hands-on patient care experience mirroring the Health Scholar program along with intensive MCAT review and supplementary workshops to prepare you for medical school admissions. This is a great opportunity for pre-med students who live outside the immediate geographic areas of the sites to get the hands-on training offered by COPE Health Scholars.
The program is ideal for those interested in careers in:
College students, “gap year” students, recent graduates, “post bacc” students, or career changers who are preparing to take the MCAT in Fall 2017 or early Spring 2018 would benefit most from this program.

Students from outside the Los Angeles and Seattle areas may choose to stay in residence with the program. This option can be discussed in further detail during the interview process.
