Medical Assistant Program Commitment

Study Time: Approximately 15 hours per week for self-guided study which includes watching pre-recorded lectures, readings from the assigned textbooks and preparing for the CCMA exam. 

Virtual Lectures: Weekly lecture discussions take place virtually for 2 hours in the evening on a set day each week excluding weeks of major holidays) via Microsoft Teams. Video and audio connection is required.

Skills Labs: Each set of skills lab boot camps will take place in person at the site over a two-day cadence. There are typically 3 to 4 sets of boot camp days per cohort depending on the site, resulting in 6 or 8 total days of boot camps. Each boot camp day is 8 hours (8 AM – 5 PM). 

Practicum Rotations: Weekly in person shifts at assigned clinic(s). Due to clinic schedules, shifts will occur Monday – Friday. Weekend shifts are not available.
