Kaiser Permanente’s Zion Medical Center is a major, acute-care hospital in San Diego, and part of Kaiser Permanente’s integrated health care model, which is committed to providing high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of its members and communities. Located in the Grantville neighborhood, the medical center has grown significantly since its opening in 1975, and now serves as a key hub in Kaiser Permanente’s San Diego service area. Today, Zion Medical Center includes 319 beds, and is supported by a large network of physicians, nurses and care teams who deliver a wide range of services, including emergency care, specialty care and advanced, surgical procedures. Known for its emphasis on innovation, patient safety and preventative care, the medical center reflects Kaiser Permanente’s broader mission of integrated, patient-centered health care delivery.
