International Health Scholar Eligibility

60 Health Scholars* and program alumni will be selected to travel from Los Angeles to Tokyo from June 19, 2025 returning June 28, 2025.

In order to qualify, Scholars must be at least 18 years of age and submit their transcript from their most recent institution demonstrating a minimum GPA of 2.5. Program alumni who are 5-years into their career may submit a more recent copy of their resume in lieu of a transcript.

Within the application, Scholars will submit three short essay questions with a maximum of 1250 characters, answering the following prompts:

  1. How will participation in the Japan Value Based Healthcare program contribute to your overall academic goals and career objectives?
  2. COPE Health Solutions and the COPE Health Scholars program is centered on the values of integrity, access, quality, support, innovation, and initiative. How are you prepared to emulate these values as a program participant? In what ways will you add and contribute to this cohort if selected?
  3. What aspects of Japan and its culture are you most interested in learning about and experiencing?

 

*12 Scholars will be chosen as alternates should additional space come available – if not selected, alternates will have the option of receiving priority selection for future COPE Health Solutions international experiential learning programs.
