Individuals choose to join COPE Health Scholars for a number of reasons. Most have a passion for health care and want to learn and practice the skills needed for their future career. They are excited to get direct patient interaction, build relationships with peers and potential future employers and gain the confidence needed to work in the health care field. Some are looking for a comprehensive experience to prepare them for professional school or expanded career options abroad, while others are looking to participate in multiple COPE Health Scholar programs because they’ve witnessed the value these programs have on their career progression.
More specifically, COPE Health Scholars learn essential skills healthcare workers use on a daily basis. On any given day this could include tasks such as transferring a patient from their bed or taking a patient’s vital signs. These experiences will give COPE Health Scholars alumni an advantage whenever they take on internships in the healthcare field while also offering them the opportunity to build connection with potential future employers.
Whatever your reason may be, we want to help you find the program that is the best fit for you.
“The COPE Health Scholars Program has been a complementary and mutually rewarding experience for our Nursing Division here at Anaheim Medical Center. Scholars with an interest in health care careers are provided the rare opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses and be mentored through meaningful experiences while contributing significantly to the overall patient care experience, as valuable members of the health care team.”
