Adventist Health Howard Memorial is a 25-bed facility located in the city of Willits, CA. Opened in 1927, the hospital offers residents of Mendocino County a full range of medical services, including inpatient and outpatient surgical and laboratory services as well as cardiac treatment.
Over the years, the facility has received recognition for its work from national healthcare organizations. In 2014, Adventist Health Howard Memorial received the Professional Research Consultants Excellence in Healthcare Award as Top Performer- Patient Care, as well as a Blue Distinction Designation Center for knee and hip replacement. Adventist Health Howard Memorial also frequently ranks highly among its peers for quality patient outcomes and patient satisfaction scores.
In 2019, the hospital received Planetree International’s Gold Designation and Five-star rating in recognition of its outstanding patient care. According to Planetree, the Adventist Health Howard Memorial earned the designation after it oriented its focus toward the 10 components the organization deemed critical in enhancing a patient’s healthcare experience, including human interaction, social support and spirituality. In order to meet the goals established by Planetree, the hospital created a number of new patient-centered programming, such as pet and music therapy.
Adventist Health Mendocino Coast is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Fort Bragg with a rich history in serving community members on the coast. Following a grass-roots effort to pass a hospital district initiative, Mendocino Coast District Hospital was dedicated on June 26, 1971.
Mendocino Coast District Hospital took its place as an important resource for the Fort Bragg community offering residents the peace of mind that comes from knowing emergency help is readily available and medical care often can be provided locally, keeping families together as much as possible. In July 2020, Mendocino Coast District Hospital joined the Adventist Health family.

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has, in recent years, received recognition for its exemplary patient care. In 2019, the American Heart Association recognized Adventist Health Ukiah Valley’s commitment to stroke care by awarding it with the Get With the Guidelines – Stroke Honor Roll Gold Quality Achievement Award. Adventist Health Ukiah Valley was given the award after demonstrating high marks on designated measures used when diagnosing and treating stroke patients The measures included the extent to which physicians prescribed the correct medication and followed the most up-to-date and evidence-based guidelines.
