Program Launch: April 2019
Located in Los Angeles, California, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH) is a 131-bed private, non-profit hospital that offers general acute care including anesthesiology, cardiology, emergency services, gastroenterology, general medicine and surgery, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and more. The hospital opened in 2015 with a brand new facility, technology, staff, and administration. Given its patient population, MLKCH is uniquely positioned to focus on population health and has built strong care management infrastructure that supports patients through post-discharge calls and community resources to ensure ongoing care. The hospital provides care to patients and their families regardless of their financial situation or insurance status. Top priorities for MLKCH include addressing specific community needs such as improving access to preventive, primary, and specialty health care, focusing on maternal and infant health, managing chronic health conditions, and recognizing social determinants of health.
