Make the most of your summer break and join one of COPE Health Scholars’ Summer Programs! For eighteen years, the COPE Health Scholars programs have offered students an unparalleled learning opportunity to experience health care firsthand alongside a patient care team.
Check out the programs we have specifically in the summer and see how you can build a career in health care.
The Intensive Health Scholar program is perfect for individuals looking to gain firsthand experience in a clinical setting, along with health care management interactions and experiences, in an intensive format across eight (8) weeks during the summer and four (4) weeks during the winter. Students participate in skill-based workshops, such as suturing, and attend a seminar taught by UCLA faculty. Upon graduation, Scholars will receive a completion certificate from UCLA’s Executive Programs in Health Policy & Management.
The Pre-Med Scholar program is the most comprehensive preparation for medical school admissions. During eight (8) weeks over the summer, Scholars will master the MCAT with 123 hours of instruction by The Princeton Review and access to additional practice materials and tests, gain firsthand experience interacting with patients and assisting providers and administrators in a clinical setting, learn tips and tools from experts on completing the medical school application process and hear from UCLA faculty on the most pressing issues affecting the health care industry.
